So the reason I'm writing today is because we have a lot of meetings
that we have to go to this week and I'm not too excited for them just
because usually they are pretty long I would rather be out working and
trying to find people but oh well..
This past week we had a lot of appointments that actually came through
and it was a really good week for us, we had this one lesson with our
investigators Edwin and Teresa and they are super cool, probably the
coolest investigators I have meet in this area. We talked about the
sabbath day and Edwin is a guy who has a lot of questions and
sometimes they are hard to answer just because it's like super deep
doctrine so we tried our best to answer them and there were a couple
questing he asked that I didn't know the answer to so this week during
our studies in the morning I went hard on studying for them so I can
better help them understand but that one scripture came to my mind "by
small and simple things brought to pass" I'm not sure where its at in
the scriptures but its so true it's not about answering all the
questions it's about making sure that they feel the spirit because it
testifies of truth in simple ways, so it's not about deep doctrine but
about easy simple doctrine because that what the gospel is, it's not
complicated.
This week we also had 2 inactive families come to church, it was
awesome because they haven't been to church in a super long time, we
are gonna keep going to visit them so that they start becoming active
because we know how many blessings they were missing out on by not
coming.
We also taught this one lady her name is Layla she was actually a
referral from her mom who we also taught last week, so we went over on
Saturday she was with her boyfriend so we taught the about the Book of
Mormon and committed them to read it, she actually told us that she
met with missionaries along time ago and was about to be baptized but
something happened and she didn't get baptized, so we are gonna work
with the 3 of them so that they can take this step and and get closer
to Christ.
Hasta luego😎

Clean up nice
So this week we did a lot of lookups and a lot of area book clean up
because it was really messy and out of control, we have a whole bunch
of potential investigators that were in the area book who haven't been
taught in a while so we looked up a lot of them and we just ended up
dropping most of them because they were not interested.
We also met with a couple of less actives and all of them told us that
they would come to church this Sunday but non of them did, sometimes I
don't know what to do because people always tell us that they will
come every week but never do, it's the hardest part of the mission, to
get people to church, but we'll keep trying.
Speaking of Sunday the branch that I'm in is super small maybe like
35-40 members and most of them are women, we have been trying to meet
with the men so that they can come to church because we are in need of
more priesthood holders.
We have a good amount of investigators that we teach but I still
haven't met with all of our investigators because they are always
busy.
We have this family of 7 that we teach that are pretty consistent with
keeping commitments and all of them are over the age of 8, they are
great and they all want to get baptized, yesterday we actually met
with the mom and the kids, the dad was at work but we read with them
in the Book of Mormon and they all said that they will pray to see if
its true, we are excited to teach them again to see if they got an
answer.
Have a great week.

New Comp, New Area
We had a good week this week, we taught about 15 lessons and as a
district it was the best week of work this cycle.
The new cycle has started today and I'm no longer in Middletown, I got
transferred in fact the whole middletown area got whitewashed which
means they took me and elder Hinckley out and the English elder and
now they just have one English and one Spanish elder in that area, but
my new area covers Elmsford, hartsdale, sleepy hollow, white plains and
terrytown (I think that how you spell them all I'm not sure) we live
in elmsford in what I would say is the nicest apartment in my mission,
it's even got 2 bathrooms so that's nice, but the bad part about this
apartments is that the AC is broken and it's really hot in here and
the humidity kills, hopefully we get it fixed soon.
I will miss Middletown and working with elder Hinckley, we got along
really well and taught really good together, but just like with
everything else when you get too comfortable they take you out but
something cool is that elder Hinckley is actually my zone leader along
with elder Richards my trainer, they are in westchester.
When I got the news that I was coming to whiteplains I got a lot of
great information about this area from elder Hinckley because he
served here like a year ago so I'm expecting great things.
That it for this week, I'll write some more stuff when I know more
next week, but I love you all and I hope you all have a awesome day!

P.s. My new companion is elder nutall he's from California, he's cool.

🇺🇸💥🔥
Another week went by and I still haven't figured out a good way to
start out my emails but here is what happened.
We had some more people move into the the ward and that is really good
because a lot of members are moving out and the ward is becoming
smaller and smaller, this week we had a family move in from Mesa, they
have lived in AZ for a while but decided to move out here for some
reason that I don't know, so that was pretty fun to talk to them,
unfortunately they didn't come to church, probably because they are
still settling in so we'll give them another week.
Later that same day we had a whole bunch of rain along with a tornado
warning, it was crazy! When I was driving the rain was coming down so
hard that I couldn't even see where I was going, there was so much
water that some streets were flooded and we have a little car but we
were still able to make it through, I think I have a video of the
rain, it doesn't look that bad in the video but in real life it was
crazy, the sister didn't even go out haha.
On Sunday I somehow was put in charge of translating the sacrament
meeting and that was a train wreck haha, usually we have Brother
Santos translate but he didn't want to do it and Elder Hinckley was
playing the organ so I got stuck translating and that was really hard,
especially on fast and testimony meeting, the people were speaking so
fast and they used really hard words that I didn't know how to say in
Spanish so I had to do some improvising, I was pretty much making
stuff up in order to keep up with the speakers haha.
On Monday we literally had nothing, the white missionary handbook says
that holidays are best time to go out and teach people because they
are with there families, that's the biggest lie ever, nobody wants to
be bothers by the missionaries on those days, but we still went out
and like the first couple of doors we just got yelled at hardcore, so
we were like let's just go to Brother Goolcharans house (ward mission
leader) and help him set up for the party, so we did that and the
party was awesome except we couldn't get any of our investigators to
come, they were either working or doing other stuff, but after this
party we went and watched fireworks and that was also pretty cool.
Monday was basically a pday because we didn't really do much at all.
Yesterday we had a solid day to make up for the work we didn't do on
Monday, we taught like 6 lessons and got a new investigator named
Carlos, he was actually a Bible media referral, he told us that he was
atheist before but he had some experiences in his life that made him
want to learn more about God and Jesus and so we gave him a bible and
scheduled a return appointment for Saturday, Carlos seemed very humble
and he was really nice as well so we are excited to teach him,
hopefully we can set a baptismal date with him, that would be
awesome!!
Have a awesome day!😀

Elder Pugmire
