President Uchtdorf
Hello everybody I hope every one enjoyed their 4th of July! This week
was good, the coolest part of the week was when we went to go see
President Uchtdorf speak at a sacrament meeting in Manhattan 1st ward.
It was awesome. It was a fast and testimony meeting so only his
grandson, his daughter, wife and him that spoke. And then after the
sacrament we got to take a picture with him with all the missionaries
in the mission.(I don't have that picture yet)
President Uchtdorf spoke about a lot of things but what stuck out to
me the most is when he was talking about repentance and how awesome it
is. He said that everyday can and should be a new day and it didn't
matter what we did in the past, we can just repent and move on with
our lives and try to be as good as we can. Being there with him in the
same room was an awesome experience and when he spoke I can just feel
how much love he had for me and for everybody in that sacrament room
even if he didn't know them. It is really cool to know that God really
speaks to people on earth today and just to hear in person an apostle
of God say that he knows that God and Jesus Christ live and that he is
a witness of all these things is really amazing, is was a neat
experience and a testimony builder for sure.

Staying Busy
Hello everybody, happy late Father's Day to all the dads I didn't say
it in my last email, I hope it was good for everybody.
Our week was good, it was really busy now that there's only us 2 in
the ward. We pretty much just have been running around like crazy from
one appointment to another because we also took the other elder
investigators and a lot of he members that they visited also want us
to come over so right now it's crazy and the worst part about this is
that a lot of the people can only meet with us at the same times so we
will have to plan out our week tomorrow so things are not as crazy as
they were this week.
So Jorge Guevara is having his baptismal interview this Monday we are
excited for him and his family. This week we had a really good lesson
with him and the bishop. Also his wife bore a really powerful
testimony so all those things helped him. He is the closes one to get
baptized but we have other people that we are working with that could
be baptized in the next couple of weeks.
That's pretty much it for now have a great week.

So I got a new companion on yesterday, elder troutman is his name he
came up here from the Bronx. After one day in the area so far he
really likes it. So elder Allan and elder Holmes the Elders that were
in our ward were also transferred out and they combined out areas
together, so now we have 2 areas to work with, so that means that we
are gonna be really busy this cycle so that's good.
This past week all we have been doing is just going to say goodbye to
everybody that elder frei wanted to visit because he went home. Also
on Sunday Rosi was confirmed a member and she really liked it, she
said that it was a really nice experience for her and now she wants
her kids to get baptized also.
That's pretty much it for this week.

9 investigators and 1 baptismal date!
Hello everybody!
So this week was awesome! We had 9 investigators at church and we got
1 more investigator to commit to a baptismal date.
We also had the baptism of Rosi and that was a really good baptism,
she was really happy and very excited for this day, the very first Tim
este was found was 5 years ago and the missionaries were teaching her
and she came to church for 1 year straight but since she was living
with her boyfriend she was not able to get baptized, now she is not
with him and she got baptized!!!! Her son and daughter and her brother
came to support her on this day. And after we had like a lunch/dinner
thing afterwards.
Something crazy that happened this week was, so last Wednesday we
finished up pday went out at 6 had a appointment came back home to get
ready for bed and went to sleep about like an hour and a half later my
comp wakes me and tell me Elder I need to go to the hospital, I was
like what the heck are you sure it's like midnight and then he said
yes i can't go to sleep I think I have hives, i was like what the heck
is hives, apperently it's like a rash, I though he could have waited
until the morning but he insisted on going in the night so we got up
got dressed and we went to the garage to get the car started driving
to the hospital, got to the hospital when we got there I was like
elder do you have cash to pay for parking he's like no, I don't even
have my wallet. So we turned around had to go to the bank i pulled out
some cash we went back, we had to wait there for a while maybe like an
hour before they could do anything and so we were just sitting there,
pretty much all they did was give him a shot or something like that
and we didn't come back home until like 3:30 so we slept in that next
day.
Also we get transfer calls to this Saturday we we will see who I get
for my last comp.π elder frei is going home.

Baptism this Sunday!
Hello,
Don't have much to report on this week except that Rosi had her
baptismal interview on Sundays and she passed! That means we are
having a baptism this Sunday so we have to make sure everything is
ready for that. Yes! Elder Frei will baptize her and then in 2 weeks I
will confirm her a member.
Jorge will ni be baptized this Sunday because he was not able to get
to church because if his work but we hope he gets baptized in the next
couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure he will.
It's been a while since we got a solid new investigator so we are
probably gonna do some tracting this week so that should be fun.
Have a good week.

Pretty Good Week!
Hello,
We had a pretty good week this week, investigators are still pretty
much the same, we visited Jorge Guevara 2 times this week and both
times were good visits, the first time we visited him was at his work,
after we taught him he got us pizza because he makes pizzas for a
living, it was good. Usually jorge has every other Sunday off and he
has Monday's off, so we also visited him on Monday and went over the
baptismal interview questions with him, he still needs to work on some
somethings so during the week his wife will help him because he
doesn't get of work until late so we can't, also we ended up pushing
his baptism a week later so it will be on the 4th now.
Later that night we had a miracle, we were in a lesson and the phone
stated buzzing so I looked at it and it was a message from Johanna
Jorge's wife and she told us that Cindy their daughter wants to get
baptized now, she had a baptismal date before but she told us she
didn't want to anymore but now I guess she changed and want to get
baptized on June 25th.
Rosi is still doing good.
We had stake conference this last Sunday it was in the kingsbridge
building in the Bronx so I was able to see people from kingsbridge,
westchester 3 branch and from olmested so that was a lot of fun
talking with them.
Hola y'all have a great week

Pray for Rosi
Hello family,
It was great to see and talk to everybody on Mother's Day, well almost
everybody. The past couple of days have been good, on Monday we were
able to see Jorge the Salvadorian man that we teach and he is still
progressing and still wants to get baptized, we taught him about the
prophets and the word of wisdom and he seems to be doing great with
it. The problem with Jorge is that he doesn't know how to read so it
will be harder for him to gain an testimony of the Book of Mormon but
he is doing his best to understand it when his wife reads it to him
and he has a baptismal date for the 28th of may.
Yesterday was also a pretty good day, we started out with a zone
conference and that took up about 8 hours of the day and it was a long
8 hours, I feel like at this point of the mission there is so much
that they can teach you or say that you already didn't hear and I'm
not saying that I know everything but it was pretty similar to some
other zone conferences we had in the past but still it was good
because there are other missionaries that haven't heard it.
We also were able to see Rosi our other person we teach with a
baptismal date and she is doing ok, she read a conference talk we gave
her and liked that but she is having a hard time with the Book of
Mormon reading and she still has doubts about some things, Rosi
changes her mind a lot one day she will tell us that she wants to get
baptize they we are like that's great and other days she just tells us
no I don't feel ready or something like that, as of right now she has
a baptismal date for June 4 so we will see how this goes with her, we
think that everything will be cleared up with her and she will get
baptized by that time.
Right now we are on our way to the city because my comp is going to
see Wiked the broadway show, I can't go so I will be on a split with
somebody else I am not sure who yet.
Have a great day!

Hello again everybody, your probably wondering why I am writing this
on Wednesday and that is because our pday got changes to Wednesday's
again, I'm not exactly sure why.
We had a pretty normal week, we are still visiting a ton of people and
teaching a ton of lesson but I think that right now for some reason
non of our people are progressing that much, they like what we teach
them and they even come to church on Sundays it's just that they don't
put the effort into praying and reading as much. Maybe we need to do
something differently to help them out, o think that we can come up
with something.
We did get dropped by one of our people with a baptismal date, well we
didn't get dropped but she just said that she doesn't wanna get
baptized anymore because she has had some experiences in her life that
make it so she doesn't wanna get baptized right now but she still come
to church so not all hope is lost.
We did some service as well, like always we were at the Calderon
cleaning up their house but we also helped out a recent convert Luz
move out and this came out of nowhere, she just calls us begging us to
help her move out before the new month because she has no money to pay
rent so we pretty much put everything on hold to help her out because
nobody else was able to help her and so me and elder Frei moved this
lady from one house to another in a little tiny Suburu, exactly how we
did it I am not sure because she had a huge bed and a dresser but we
made it work and Luz seems to be doing ok for now.
We had transfer calls and I am staying here with elder Frei until he
finishes his mission, he only has 1 transfer left, serving with him
has been super chill, he kinda reminds me of erik.
Ok pues hasta luego✌π½

Junior Gets Baptized!
This week was really good, Junior the 10 year old kid was baptized, he
was really excited for it, he is the only member in his family right
now but we are hoping to teach the rest of his family soon, they all
came to sacrament yesterday and stayed for the baptism afterwards, we
are really happy for them. For the baptism one of the speakers didn't
show up and so the ward mission leader chose me to give a talk on the
spot, that was funπ¬πππ¬ it was a good baptism a lot of people
showed up and supported Junior, if everything goes well this week we
should also have a baptism this weekend, it's a girl named Cindy.
We started teaching this one other girl named Cionette, she is from
Peru and really wants to learn about the church, she already accepted
to be baptized and came to church yesterday. She is really prepared to
learn about the gospel. π
Other then that the week was awesome, thank you to everybody for the
birthday wishes, I had a good birthday.

Easter Week
Happy late eaters everybody, I didn't say it last week but I hope
everybody had a good one.
We had another good week, it was pretty normal nothing different, we
had 8 people at church but a couple of people left before sacrament
even started because we do the sacrament meeting last but that was
still ok.
We are having a baptism this Sunday for sure, Junior a 10 year old kid
will be baptized and I think the bishop will baptize him.
This week we also did a lot of service, on Saturday we did is one
service at the Calderon home, they are a super cool family and we do
service every week for them, we basically clean their house because
they are hoarders and they just have a whole bunch of random crap
laying around everywhere, we go there 2 times a week and we work non
stop for like 2 hours and I still haven't seen any difference, that
how bad their house is, they also have a whole bunch of pets. Turtles,
cats, lizards, a lot of cockroaches and flies haha, we didn't clean
any of this but all of those things makes it smell really bad, anyways
the service we did was we cleaned the basement, the grossest part of
the house and the reason it's really gross is because they have 24
dogs that live their and it smells HORRIBLE down their, we took out
all the cages, scrubbed and cleaned those and then we cleaned the
floor of the basement that had a whole bunch of poop and pee on it.
It's was fun, we are glad we did that for them.
Anyways everything is good.

New ROC
Hey how is it going everyone? So this week was the last week of he
transfers and I'm leaving hunts pointπ but I'm going back to the
westchester zone my last zone I came from but I'm gonna be in a
different area I'm gonna be in New Rochelle and my new comp will be
elder Frei, I know him pretty well we have served in the same zone
before.
Some of the stuff that happened this week was that Jeyuri and Amado
received the priesthood and now they will be able to pass the
sacrament on sundays, we are really excited for them, hey are awesome
kids and I will miss them when I leave.
We also had a baptism this Saturday, the sister had a investigator
that got baptized, her name is Rosa Nilda and she asked me if I could
baptize her so I did and then on Sunday I confirmed her a member. It
was a really cool baptism and she is gonna be a really solid member to
this ward.
I really love this area and i wish that I could have been here longer
because 2 cycles is not that much time to get to know everybody but I
did meet some really awesome people and made some good friends.

Its Been Good
Hello family,
How is everybody? Hopefully everybody is good end enjoying he good
weather, the weather here is getting better, today actually feels
really good, there's no wind and it's sunny so it will be a good day,
also we're doing a BBQ today with a family in our ward.
We are staying really busy and we are teaching a lot of people right
now, it's been great! We still have like 5 people with a baptismal
date and we are gonna have a baptism this Sunday I think, we still
have to talk to the parents of this kid, his name is Junior, hopefully
everything goes good so he can get baptized this Sunday.
This past Sunday was great! We were able to confirm Luz who was
baptized 4 weeks ago before I got here so now she is officially a
member.
Also what made it great was that we had 9 investigators at church, it
was awesome to have that many people come.
We only found 1 new investigator this week, his name is Juan Ramon
he's from Honduras, we were able to drop but for a few minutes last a
couple days ago but he was leaving for work so we rescheduled for this
Friday, he is a really cool guy and I think that if we keep working
with him he will get baptized in the future.
Have a good week

Week 1 in new roc
WOW, THIS AREA IS AWEOME!! After one week of being here I absolutely
love it. Our area covers New Rochelle, Mamaroneck and Port Chester, we
do most of our work in Port Chester but we also have some people we
visit in New Rochelle and I haven't even stepped foot in Mamaroneck
but this week was awesome, we have a lot of work to do here and a lot
of people to teach, I'm still learning all the names of everybody and
still haven't seen everybody yet but the people that I have seen are
awesome, we have 5 people with a baptismal date right now and 2 of the
people were gonna get baptized this weekend but we have general
conference so that will have to be moved to the next next sunday(we
have baptisms on Sunday here)
Speaking of Sunday yesterday we had a good turnout at church we had
like 7 investigators at church and a total of about 90 people, so it's
not that a bad compared to other wards and branches. So the week
before I got here there was a baptism of a lady named Luz, and since
baptisms are on Sunday it means that she wasn't gonna get confirmed a
member until this Sunday, well out of know where she calls us Saturday
night saying that she found a job(she didn't have a job before but was
looking for one) and they are making her work this Sunday, we talked
to her for a little bit and told her to trust God and tell them that
she can't work this Sunday but after we said that she never replied,
BONES! And she can't get confirmed this Sunday because it's general
conference so I guess it will be in 2 more weeks if we can do that.
In this area we have Spanish and Portuguese investigators and members
so we also have to speak in Portuguese and that's always fun, I pretty
much just speak Spanish because I don't know how to speak Portuguese
and they speak back in Portuguese so it's a little bit weird but the
languages are very similar so we can understand then and they
understand us also elder Frei knows a few sentences.

No baptism this week.
Hola a todos,
We had a good week. We started out by going to the temple with our
roommates and that was really fun and spiritual, it's been a while
since I went to the temple, during the session there were other elder
and sisters that went and one of the companionship was the sign
language missionaries and one of them was deaf so they had a thing in
sign language and that was also pretty cool to see. After the temple
we went and explored down in Manhattan, that was also really fun.
So the title is pretty self explanatory, we were suppose to have a
baptism, Amado was gonna get baptized last Saturday but last second
they went out of town and weren't able to be baptized on Saturday and
they didn't come to church either so we pushed the baptism for this
weekend, so we are gonna have 2 baptisms this weekend Amado and
Jeyuri, they are both really awesome 12 year old kids and have a
desire to follow Jesus, they will be great members and examples to
their families especially Jeyuri because he will be the only member in
his family, but the other are learning.
So we are pretty excited for these 2 baptisms this Saturday it should
be awesome.
Last night we got 3 new investigators, they are also kids one of them
is 15 or 16 tho so she's not that young but the other are pretty
young, they are foster kids form El Salvador that live with Less
active member and we were able to share the restoration with them and
gave them all a Book of Mormon and invited them to read the first
chapter, the oldest girl (Rosa) said that she really likes reading and
asked if she can read on past chapter 1 we said of course, she then
said that she will read the whole Book of Mormon in a week because we
can only meet them on Sundays, I'm not gonna lie I do have a hard time
believing that she will actually do that in 7 days but I know that it
has been done before and if she actually does that it will be crazy
but super awesome jaja, I hope she does it! Also we working with these
kids gives us a perfect opportunity to work with the less active
member as well.
Also we celebrated elder santibanez birthday on the 4th so happy
birthday to him and everybody else in the family who had or will have
one this and last week.

Another Week is GONE
Hello family,
We had a really great week this week! The reason I say it was great is
because we are having a baptism this Saturday!! It's for a kid named
Amado. We have this part member family we are teaching, the nicest
family ever, the mom has been a member for a while and a couple of
months ago before I came to the area her younger son who is 10 got
baptized but Amado who is 12 didn't want to, he has had many baptismal
dates but non of them happened for reasons unknown, anyways this
Tuesday we went over to visit the Pocasangre family and we decided
that we were gonna read a few chapter from the children's Book of
Mormon with them, after we read that we just had a strong feeling to
invite him to be baptized, he has been invited so many times and has
been talked to about baptism so many times, but this time it was
different, so we invited him and he paused and said "yes I would like
to get baptized" it was an awesome experience and we could just see
how happy Yovanni (his little brother who's 10) got, his face lit up
and he had the biggest smile, he has always wanted Amado to get
baptized and has been a really good example to him.
Jeyuri our other person with a baptismal date still is doing really
good, he is getting to know more and more members and he's liking
church more and more and yesterday we actually took him out to go to a
FHE at a members house, we had a good spiritual experience.
So we had a mission tour this weekend with Elder Gong from the 70 and
MAN was it good, on Sunday we all went down to the Temple on 66th
street to have a devotional and the topic was "Always remember him" to
prepare we studied elder gongs talk from a recent general conference
and elder Nelson talk on the sabbath day, the devotion was really
awesome and we all got to meet elder gong and shake his hand and talk
to him a bit, it was a cool experience, the next day we had a zone
conference with just the Bronx zones, so the Olmstead and Kingsbridge
zones, elder gong only wanted to meet with the Bronx zones for a zone
conference so we felt pretty special jaja.
Overall it was a really good week and we learned a lot by the Spirit
of the Lord.

ππ
Hey everybody π how is everything going? I hope that everybody is
doing good. We had a good week ourselves, to start out we I wanna talk
about a baptism that happened this weekend, it wasn't our investigator
but it was the sister in our district but it wasn't always like that,
the lady who got baptized her name is Virginia and when I got here to
this area about 8 weeks ago we were actually teaching her and after
our first appointment she decided that she no longer wanted to be
taught so she completely dropped us but the sisters were still working
with her kids and one day they just decided to talk to Virginia again
and a couple of weeks later she was baptized, I could not believe it
because in just a couple of short weeks she changed completely, the
reason I can tell that she changed a lot is because a few days before
she got baptized she asked the sisters if we could give her a blessing
and we were able to go to her house and talk to her again and she was
a completely different, before she was super depressed and she told us
how she has all these problems and how she can never be happy because
she has too many trial but this time she was smiling she was really
excited and super happy, she told us that even though she still has a
lot of problems in her life she now is really happy and wants to share
this happiness with everybody, it was kinda cool because after her
baptism when she was sharing her testimony she expressed how she wants
to be a missionary so that everybody can feel the happiness that she
feels now. It was really cool to see how the gospel of Jesus Christ
changed Virginia and how it can change anybody if they let it change
them. On Sunday she was confirmed and she wanted me and elder
santibanez to be in the circle and that was a cool experience as well,
also on Sunday we had meeting with the bishop before church and so we
had to be there at 8 so we were rushing trying to get ready and be
there in time because we have 4 elders in the apartment and only 1
shower but anyways we got ready we left made it on time to the meting
and as soon as we walk into the bishops office I realized I didnt have
a name tag haha so likely elder santibanez had 2 name tags on him so I
was wearing one of his, not a lot of people noticed but the ones that
did were a little bit confused. We also had 5 investigators at church
so that was good, only one of them is progressing because the others
just come to church but don't do anything else like read or pray, but
it's still way good that they are there. Another thing that made this
week a good one is because for the last couple of days the weather has
been perfect, the average was probably high 50s in the last couple of
days and it felt really weird to not be cold when we are walking
outside.
Ok have a good week!

Snapshot in Hunts Point
Hello everybody,
So this week has been pretty fun. We started out the week with a
family home evening with the sister missionaries and we visited this
one recent convert with her 3 kids, the reason we were with the sister
missionaries is because this recent convert lives in Hunts Point and
the sun was already down and the sister can't go into hunts point
after dark so we had to like escort them and stuff, I didn't really
like doing the escorting part of the FHE but the actual FHE was really
fun and the family that we visited is really cool. It was my first
time that we did that this past cycle, apparently the missionaries
have been doing this every week before I got here.
So on Tuesday we had a lesson with Harold our most progressing
investigator, we had a lesson on the law of chastity with him and at
the end of the lesson we invited him to live the law of chastity and
he just straight up said "no I cannot live this law, I will live any
other law except for this one" even after clarifying all the blessing
that he could relieve form this law he still said no.... oh well at
least he is honest about it. So we decided to cut down on the visits
with him and only visit him one time a week instead of 2, hopefully in
the future he decides to change.
We were going through area book and calling random people to see if we
can get somebody to answer the phone, after making a lot of calls only
one person answer and she told us that we could stop by, so the next
day we went over and it's this one lady with her son and her
boyfriend, this lady was contacted about a year ago in Manhattan and
some missionaries helped her find Victoria's Secret and she really
liked them but lost contact with them after a while, so she was just
sitting in the area book. So we went over to their house and we taught
them the restoration, the wife really liked it mainly because she
didn't know too much about Christ or anything that happened to him so
pretty much everything we talked about was completely new to her, the
husband was less interested because he has always grown up with the
church and is catholic I think but he expressed some interest, so they
are pretty cool, we actually, had to pass them off to the English
elder because they preferred to speak English so hopefully everything
goes well with them.
We also started to teach this one kid named Jeyuri he is only 12 but
he is way awesome, he is a son of the sisters investigator, for some
reason the sister have been teaching Nani the mom but never taught the
kid so we hopped on it, so far we taught him just the restoration and
he accepted to be baptized when he knows that the church is true, so
next time we meet with him we will set a date. We were also able to
take him to a devotional yesterday in Manhattan, it was really good,
the person who spoke was Stephanie Nielsen and her husband, they are
the people who got into a really bad plane crash and got injured
really bad, both of them shared their stories and their experiences,
it was a really cool devotional, I think elder Holland talked about
her in one of the conferences.
We also had a snow storm this week, I forgot what day it was on but
the wind was blowing like crazy, I think it was like 30 mph or
something like that and there was snow everywhere and it was blowing
around, that day was really freezing but after that day thing went
back to normal, a couple days after the storm there was a lot of slush
on the ground and by now we hardly have any snow or slush on the
ground it all pretty much dried up.

Hello family I hope everybody is doing well, I don't have a lot of
time left to email but Saturday we had transfer calls and me and elder
Santi are staying together here in hunts point. I've really enjoyed
this past cycle and enjoyed working with elder santibanez, hopefully
this next cycle is just as good if not better.

Que lo que?
Pretty normal this week, nothing too exciting happened but it was
still a really productive week and a lot of changes were made to the
mission.
So that changes that were made is mainly to the missionary schedule.
It's no longer what it use to be and it actually gives a lot more
freedom to choose instead of just like doing things hour by hour, so
we no longer start studies at 8 they changed it so it's at 830 and we
end at around 10 so that we have more time to go out and do missionary
work, leavening the apartment at 10 is a little bit weird because I
never really had the chance to do it because before we would do
personal then companion then language study and by the time we
finished study it would be 11 so we would eat lunch and hen leave so
we wouldn't leave until like 12 or later so that's better, as well as
on pdays we also have extra time, before pday started at 10 because we
had to do 2 hours of study but now they changed so that we can start
pday at 8 so it gives us more time to do stuff, we still study on pday
but it's only for 30 minutes and we don't do comp study, also they
changed the key indicators and now there's only 4 instead of 9, oh ya
and we learned all of this stuff because we had a missionary
conference thing and we watched them talk on tv it was pretty cool, I
liked this one more then last years.
The weather is not too cold, still have to wear a jacket and gloves
but only when the wind blows really hard other then that it's not that
bad, we haven't had snow for a while now, maybe it will hit hard in
February.
Gave a talk on Sunday, I didn't really know for how long to speak for
and didn't know if I was gonna be 1st 2nd or 3rd because they didn't
tell me so I prepared for the worst and hoped for the best, I ended up
being the second speaker, while I was speaking the bishop slipped me a
note saying "your time is up" time went by so fast while I was up
there and I actually took up some time from the last speaker, I felt
bad and so I apologized afterwards but the hermana said it was ok.
We still have the same investigators, and only 1 person with a
baptismal date, his name is Harold he is a kid of a recent convert
he's like 17 we set it with him for the 25th of February and also we
took Awildas baptismal date off because she wasn't progressing and she
wasn't gonna be ready, I think we will give her some time off and just
work with her recent convert son, other then that things are still
pretty much the same.
